"PoEM's Quest for Brilliance: Igniting the Future of Emergency Medicine Research!"

Description:

PoEM, the Panorama of Emergency Medicine Journal (formerly known as MJEM), is hosting a thrilling competition for the best article, aiming to introduce the journal, while showcasing the significance of research and scientific publishing. Open to all emergency professionals, especially the young and aspiring, this contest welcomes supervisors, partners, and sponsors as co-authors. However, candidates must be primary or corresponding authors, having made a substantial contribution to the article. The distinct roles of each author should be clearly outlined.

Prospective authors are invited to carefully review the submission conditions and author guidelines https://panoramaoem.com/index.php/poem/subguidelinesauthors before submitting their articles directly on the journal's OJS platform. The article review process adheres to international recommendations https://panoramaoem.com/index.php/poem/revguidelines .

All articles must be submitted in English. The selection committee will evaluate articles anonymously after acceptance for publication. The committee members' and winners' names will be published on the journal's website.

Submission deadline: November 30, 2024

Awards distribution: January 2025

Selection criteria:

  • The submitted articles must be accepted for publications/published on PoEM
  • For Original Research Studies (including randomized controlled trials, observational studies, case series, cross-sectional surveys, and diagnostic studies): A score out of 20 will be given based on Design (5 points), Ethics (5 points), Importance (5 points), Impact (5 points).
  • For Review articles (including formal meta-analyses, systematic reviews, and descriptive reviews): A score out of 20 will be given based on Design (5 points), Clarity (5 points), Importance (5 points), Impact (5 points).
  • The articles that met the selection criteria will be presented to the jury led by the president Pr. Bruno Megarbane for the final decision.

Prizes:
The first three prizes of $1000 (scores 16/20 and above are eligible), $750 (scores 14/20 and above are eligible) , and $500 (scores 12/20 and above are eligible) are awarded for original and review articles only. The fourth and fifth prizes ($300 each, scores 11/20 and above are eligible) are open to other article categories, including case reports.
